Who We Are

A Legacy of Rescue, A Future of Restoration

For over 35 years, Founders Lowell and Sally Senitz have answered a singular call: to intervene in the lives of children caught in the darkness of Human Trafficking. Their journey began as missionaries behind the Iron Curtain in Romania, extending through the slums of Kenya and the deserts of Sudan, where they established some of the world’s first specialized safe houses for exploited youth.

In 2007, upon discovering that this same crisis was unfolding in their own backyard of Southwest Florida, the Senitz’s founded Wings of Shelter Int'l, Inc., opening the state’s first licensed long-term safe house for domestic minor sex trafficking victims. Their work has always been rooted in the Neuro-Relational Framework—a pioneering, non-punitive system designed to move children from "victim to survivor to leader" by healing the brain and heart through unconditional love and professional clinical care.

The Global Pivot: Meeting the Demand for Excellence

While our mission to rescue and restore remains unshakeable, Wings of Shelter is entering a transformative new chapter. We recognize that the global demand for safe spaces far exceeds the current capacity of qualified caregivers.

We are no longer just providing a safe house; we are building the Safe House movement.

Wings of Shelter is revolutionizing the learning path to trauma-informed care by pivoting to an international training and certification platform. We are meeting the urgent demand for expertise by equipping individuals and organizations with the "Golden Standard of Care". Through our new certification process and specialized training modules, we empower the next generation of caregivers to provide the restorative, safe spaces every survivor deserves to heal and reclaim their future.

"Revolutionizing Learning Paths to trauma-informed care: Equipping caregivers to provide the Golden Standard of Care that every survivor deserves."

Building the Capacity for Restoration

Wings of Shelter Int'l, Inc. is revolutionizing the learning path to trauma-informed care by pivoting from a localized safe house to an international training and certification platform. We recognize that across our nation—starting right here in Southwest Florida—there is a critical gap between the number of rescued survivors and the availability of qualified caregivers equipped to help them heal.

We are meeting this urgent demand by expanding the capacity of:

  • Foster Care Homes: Providing every foster parent with the specialized tools needed to navigate complex trauma.

  • Temporary & Long-Term Housing: Ensuring that every survivor of Human Trafficking, addiction, and trauma has access to a safe space that meets the highest therapeutic standards.

  • National Organizations: Equipping frontline agencies with the certification necessary to provide consistent, world-class care.

Our Mission: The Golden Standard

Our mission is to bridge the gap between rescue and restoration by certifying the hands and hearts of those who serve. We empower individuals and organizations to provide the "Golden Standard of Care"—a restorative, neuro-relational framework that ensures every survivor has a verified pathway to reclaim their future.

Our Future Focus: Scaling the Standard of Care

Wings of Shelter Int'l, Inc. is moving beyond the walls of the safe house to meet the massive national demand for trauma-informed expertise. Our goal is to ensure that the "Golden Standard of Care" is accessible in every corner of the recovery system.

  • National Foster Care Integration: We are expanding our reach to equip foster care homes across the nation—beginning in Southwest Florida—with the specialized certification needed to support children coming from high-trauma backgrounds.

  • Systemic Capacity Building: We are partnering with every level of survivor support, from emergency temporary shelters to long-term residential homes, to provide a verified, consistent pathway to healing.

  • Empowering the Frontlines: By certifying individuals and organizations in our proven Neuro-Relational Framework, we are building a national network of caregivers capable of meeting the complex needs of survivors of human trafficking, addiction, and profound trauma.

Strategic Key Points:

  • The Founders' History: Connects your 35+ year international missionary background (Romania, Kenya, Sudan) to your current authority.

  • The Neuro-Relational Pivot: Referencing our transition from a local safe house to a global training/certification hub.

  • The "Golden Standard": Our certification process is the elite benchmark for survivor restoration with 30 years of proven success.
